Position: Business Analyst (Entry Level Consultant Role)

Nimble is looking for entry level consultants to join our high performing consulting team. By supporting key deliverables and working with Nimble from an entry level position, you will learn frameworks for thinking through how to solve problems for fortune 500 clients. Through various client roles, you will get exposure to organizational change management, strategic communications, training, process improvement, road mapping and strategic planning, and other frameworks used to help our clients.

Requirements for the Position

Note: This is an entry level consultant role, not a business analyst role for big data or high tech.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of work experience (preference given to client-facing and problem-solving experience)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills (quantitative, qualitative)
  •  Comfortable facilitating and driving meetings with a planned agenda
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to deal with and resolve ambiguity and to adjust personal style to different situations
  • Ability to work independently while developing strong working relationships with peers & leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail (important for client delivery purposes)
  • Desire to drive your own work, take initiatives and to learn consulting
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

 

Key Responsibilities

As a business analyst, you are in a starting role as a consultant for Nimble and will learn the ropes of consulting “on the job” in this small and growing company. Responsibilities include:

  • Support one or more client engagements as necessary under Nimble
  • Learn frameworks for organizing client deliverables and apply them in your work
  • Own specific tasks and workstreams within a project scope
  • Strong documentation and note taking for project team meetings
  • Support and participate in high level executive meetings
  • Assist in research, market or financial analysis
  • Assist with planning, scheduling and facilitating events hosted by Nimble
  • Support Nimble’s Website, SharePoint and knowledge management
  • Support activities around internal processes: recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, etc.
  • Help develop improve the internship program and support interns (as needed)
  • Administrative activities as directed by project lead or CEO

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management skills: problem solving, tracking work, status reports, risk management
  • Experience in working collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Strong references required for consideration, preferably from clients or direct supervisors
  • Process mapping experience or desire to learn process mapping
  • Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook, Visio (process mapping)

Client Project Role

As an entry-level consultant, an example of a project role is described below. However your role will vary as you move across different projects and clients.

Example: Program Assistant and Communications Lead (project role varies)

1. Strategic Communications for client end users

  • Work with a Change Management expert and clients to ensure development of materials for consistent, timely and relevant communications
  • Draft and deliver all communications across broad stakeholder groups
  • Monthly and Quarterly project email updates

2. End User / Change Management support to the Nimble team

  • Monitor and maintain project email account, interacting with wide groups of end users
  • Onsite support as needed to the end-user locations (throughout Northern California)
  • Driving /managing super users, general users and onsite support efforts for “Go-Live”
  • Support to Focus Groups, Lessons Learned
  • Survey Development and Analysis

3.    Program support activities

  • Understanding/ documenting workflow, standards, process and business requirements
  • Coordination, scheduling, logistics, support for key executive and field presentations
  • Documentation of meeting notes, graphics support for presentations
  • Metrics reporting – website usage report
  • Maintain and update SharePoint site and project website

Note:  Local travel as required by the client

(Currently travel is in the bay area only, but there could be client work requiring further travel as needed)
